IngenuityFest 2012 + Steam Greenlight
9/17/12 -
This weekend Steve showed Ballads of Reemus at the 2012 IngenuityFest in Cleveland Ohio. It was a real joy seeing people sit down to play our game and laugh at the jokes or just smile as they figure out the puzzles. We work digitally and hear from our fans through emails, but there’s nothing like seeing the expressions on people’s faces when they’re having fun with our game. More pictures and videos later in this post…
In other news, Valve’s Steam game distribution service has started a new system called Greenlight, which allows indie developers like us to submit our game for community voting, with the potential to have it end up on Steam for sale with enough votes! Please help us get on Steam at this link. To vote you’ll need a Steam account with at least one game in it.
Now for some more media from the IngenuityFest. Here are just a few of the really cool people that stopped by to play Ballads of Reemus:
Thanks to Steve Felix and Matt Perrin from the Cleveland Game Dev Meetup for allowing me to come up and have some space to show our game at the festival, and thank you so much to everyone that stopped by to try out our game.

New Adventure Release & Planning Our Next Big Move
6/4/12 -
Our newest fairy tale adventure game Wentworth is now live! An adorable space cat who spends just a little bit too much time napping scrambles to do his mission assigned to him weeks ago, and what should have been a simple task turns into a nightmare as he accidentally awakens a golem who threatens to take over the entire land of the fairies. Please play and share it with your friends. 🙂
Once we put out a couple more smaller projects and finish some contract work we hope to have the funds together to start on our next big commercial-sized game. We’ve hinted at what some of our game ideas are here on clickshakegames.com, on zeebarf.com and on our Facebook page, and today we’re sharing some screenshots from these projects.
We love top-down games of exploration, action and adventure, and that is what we hope to deliver with this game. It’s going to be a gritty, interplanetary, laser shooting type game, with artificially intelligent aliens, sci-fi and other good, fun thingies.
This one is super funny, and some of the prototype’s features already have us ROFLing. You get to beat down beefy manly-men with big hair and tight pants. Still more AI for this one.
These projects (plus one additional game project not mentioned here) are described further on our upcoming games section, which is also linked from our Home menu at the top. We update this page periodically with how the projects are coming along.
Finally, we have been playing lots of iPhone games and looking heavily into developing for mobile for our next big game, though we will also be targeting other platforms at the same time including PC again as well as Mac, Android and others.
What is your favorite game for iOS? Share some of yours and if you ask nicely we just might tell you our favorites too.

Wentworth & Other New Things In the Works
4/4/12 -
We are nearing completion of our new web game Wentworth, a game about a cat from space and fairies, golems and trolls. It should be up for sponsorship any day now. We’ve setup a page for upcoming game projects like this one.
Beyond that we are already planning the next few game concepts. We’re planning to further expand on a couple of Zeebarf’s game worlds, but we also have new ideas. During Wentworth development, we’ve been getting ourselves poised to start making more games more often so that’s pretty exciting. We’re experimenting with genre and methods to see what kind of cool things we can come up with.
In Ballads news, we’re now selling shirts and CD’s individually in the store if you want one but not the other. Get them while supplies last, we only have 3 of the 6 shirt sizes left! Also, we’re now shipping Collector’s Edition packages, and some have already received them! Watch as Reid Cooper unleashes some epic Collector’s Edition Package opening on us.
If you have your own fan videos or pictures, please send them to us and we may include them on our fan page.

Ballads of Reemus – Release Date & Official Trailer!
1/3/12 -
Two years ago, we set out to create our first commercial adventure game. Today I’m proud to say that we are ready to announce the official Ballads of Reemus Release Date:
January 27th, 2012!
And now for the brand new Ballads of Reemus official trailer, with clips from the actual game:
This means your last chance to pre-order the game and play the early release 2 weeks ahead of the official release date will be January 13th, 2012.
Now that we’ve had a chance to play the game in its entirety and compare it to other indie adventure games, we’ve decided to lower our price point to $9.97 for both the downloadable and the browser-based version of the game. The decision is meant to bring our price more in-line with the current state of the game market. More information about the price change for pre-orders is after the jump (click “Read the rest…” below if needed).
So as the launch date looms on the horizon we wanted to commemorate our first ever commercial game with a special package. Presenting, the Ballads of Reemus Limited Edition Collector’s Package includes:
This set is available to order in the updated store for $39.97 + shipping with limited quantities on a first come first serve basis. Once they’re gone, they’ll be gone forever. Order your Collector’s Edition here and don’t forget to pick your shirt size!

Jay’s Trip to the Recording Studio
8/19/11 -
Jay heads out to Dunnville, Ontario for some audio production and takes his video camera to give us an inside look into the making of a game’s soundtrack.
Meet Mitch Bowden, the man who created all the unique music for every Reemus game, as he records some Ballads of Reemus tracks alongside Jay and gives us a listen to one of the new songs. Also, meet Dave Dunham AKA DAVIDS, who created music for A Small Favor, Buy Buy Buy, and Zee and the Alien Machine, as he records some voices for Ballads. Plus hear Liam’s voice for the first time ever. All in the latest episode of the ClickShake Ballads of Reemus Production Diary!
Did you hear that Steve knocked out the Act2 and Act 3 Scene Polish phases for Ballads?!?! According to our precision instrument of accomplishment tracking, we are exactly 84.7% done with Ballads of Reemus! Just look at that Progress Timeline, filling up so fast the milestone bubbles are exploding and the progress bar is catching on FI-YA! Speaking of fire, Steve let slip a little teaser info about what’s being programmed for Ballads on the forum a couple days ago. What else can you squeeze out of him? Any guesses what he’s talking about?
TOAST!!!
